Follow on Google News | East Orange's First Annual Business Crawl Hosted by East Orange Business AssociationThe "crawl" encouraged East Orange residents to travel from store to store and stop in each to browse, test products, perhaps enjoy some adult beverages, and in the process, discover there are small businesses that aren't big boxes out on the by-pass. "The EOBA Crawl held this past Saturday was a success for our business. Over 20 Crawlers visited our location on Saturday", said John Houston, of the Cushnie Houston Funeral Home. This East Orange Business Crawl laid the foundation for an annual Fall community event designed to showcase the diversity and the number of businesses located in the City of East Orange. " "This is the first time, I can recall where commerce, government, and the community have come together to create an event to acknowledge some of the great businesses in East Orange", said Steve Cooper. "I visited every business and the excitement they experienced was well worth our effort. Our community returned to the basics of patronizing local establishments and professionals to put East Orange first. Congratulations to Mayor Ted Green and his Development department for embracing the EOBA crawl concept." The event featured 26 stops and included businesses in each of the five wards of East Orange.
