The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is SEBAC's 2021 Award for Excellence winnerBy: Small Environmental Business Action Coalition WASHINGTON - Nov. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) as the recipient of the 2021 Award for Excellence. SEBAC presents the award to recognize a Federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental business.
Procurement data researched by FEDMINE.US specific to North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) codes 562910 and 541620 was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses. These data were used as a component in determining the recipient of the Award for Excellence along with a pre-established set of criteria which includes three key components:
In the federal government's fiscal year 2021, the Navy far exceeded the Small Business Administration's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 98% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 to small businesses. This is a remarkable commitment to small businesses, representing a significant increase from fiscal year 2020 in which the Navy obligated 78% in these NAICS codes to small businesses. SEBAC recognizes NAVFAC for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as single award and multiple award environmental compliance and remedial action contracts. SEBAC President, John Dwyer, and Monica Cooper, Award for Excellence Chairperson, will present the Award during SEBAC's Networking Reception and Award Presentation during the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in Room B206. Rear Adm. John Korka, NAVFAC Commander and Navy Chief of Civil Engineers, will be present to accept the award on behalf of NAVFAC. Sponsors of the Networking Reception are ATI, Inc., Bluestone Environmental Group, Inc., EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG), I.C.E. Service Group, Inc., KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc., and Leisnoi Diversified Services, LLC. Smith Manus Surety Bonds, an agency specializing in environmental, construction, and specialty bonds for all industries, is the major sponsor of the networking reception and the Award for Excellence.
