The goal is to help people experiencing homelessness, people who live in tents, out of cars, or in shelters, etc. AHHDC operates in Washington DC and nearby areas.
Georgetown Ministry Center 1041 Wisconsin Avenue NW Washington, DC 20007 AHHDC is a group of atheist volunteers, but they cannot be just atheists. They are citizens. They want to help, to give, to learn, and to receive. There is nothing to stop them, as atheists, from believing in basic human goodness and wanting to nurture that. They have ethics; they have moral compasses. They are integral parts of our society and are proud to be your family, your friends, and your neighbors and they want to help our community. Winter is almost here. The goal of the upcoming AHHCD Distribution Event will be to distribute gloves, pull-over hats, and socks. As always, mini-flashlights will be provided. The AHHDC distributes to those who cannot carry regular-sized items everywhere they go. The items are for people living on the street, out of a tent or car, or out of a shelter. The AHHDC estimates 75 clients will be helped. DONATIONS AT THE WEBSITE ARE IMPORTANT. One immediate goal of AHDC is to achieve public awareness. Their website is www.atheistshelping.org.
