Follow on Google News | The Mighty Trio: How three women are leading the charge against gender-based violenceFunded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the CARE-GBV Small Grants Program, gave five organizations grants to build organizational cultures that promote self-care and wellness for staff to help strengthen the quality of GBV programming. WAR was one of five grantees selected from 518 applicants to receive an award ranging from $50,000 to $125,000 over a one-year period. Samakabadi explained during the podcast that this will benefit staff who work directly with survivors. "We need to help them be more resilient, be more supportive, so that they may be able to deliver quality service to survivors." The episode also dives into advocating for reform with policymakers and how the COVID-19 pandemic may have exasperated gender-based violence in the home.
