Sanborn says, "The whole world has been going through a very tough spell, and I hope that 'The Best Is Yet to Come' will inspire people all around the globe to believe that there are good things coming over the horizon." Besides composing "The Best Is Yet to Come," Sanborn contributed vocals and keyboards on the tune. Produced by Matthew Shell, the song features Sami Turunen on electric guitar, Hector Ruano on bass guitar, Glenn Welman on drums and congas, and Jackie Bertone on percussion. In addition, Evan Sebenick provided his mixing and mastering skills for the new release. Sanborn won a 2015 American Songwriting Award for her world single, "Fantasy." The singer/songwriter's accolades include a ZMR Award nomination and a One World Music Award nomination for her seventh album, Lights of Laniakea, and a 2017 Clouzine International Music Award for her original composition, "Falling," from her latest album release, Recollecting You.
