When we asked Michael about this new release, he quickly responded, "I see my book as a look to the future. The process of dismantling the African-American has already begun. Decisions are being made every day about the future of the black community, but not BY us. We are treated as if we were pawns to be moved around on somebody's chessboard. These people don't have our best interests at heart. They see us as a nuisance, a problem, something to be neutralized and disposed of, while simultaneously being mined and exploited for any economic benefit. The world is about to change massively, and I want us to start talking about it.

I also want to present a love story of a 21st-century young person. Clara Stanton is like a female version of myself back in the day, introverted, bookish, but still filled with passion and a healthy intellectual curiosity about everything around them. The future of love will be more challenging than in the past. Coming of age will be different, but some things never change. It will be exciting, dizzying, filled with twists, turns, let downs, and flying high in the sky. I hope my story shows that good women and good men are always going to be out there.
