Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project Files Application Before Canada's Federal Court On Genocide

OTTAWA, Ontario - Feb. 4, 2022 - PRLog -- e Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project, a human rights organisation promoting the rights of the Uyghur population and advocating for the recognisance of the crimes committed against them, here and abroad, has filed today an application before Canada's Federal Court, requesting a declaration that the Government of Canada is in breach of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide by failing to take the necessary measures to prevent the ongoing genocide against members of the Uyghur population committed by the People's Republic of China.

Le Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project, une organisation de défense des droits humains faisant la promotion des droits du peuple ouïghour et plaidant pour la reconnaissance des crimes commis contre lui, ici et à l'étranger, a déposé aujourd'hui devant la Cour fédérale du Canada une requête afin de faire déclarer que le Canada viole la Convention pour la prévention et la répression du crime de génocide en ne prenant pas les mesures nécessaires pour prévenir le génocide en cours contre les membres de la population ouïghour par la République populaire de Chine.
