XHood Founder Mia Cooley Creates Space for LGBTQ+ Parents To be with Facebook Accelerator Program

Parenthood redefined - LGBTQ+, Non-Binary & Non-Conforming Parents

WASHINGTON - Feb. 16, 2022 - PRLog -- Washington DC, Metro Area - Date  - xHood - Black LGBTQ+ Moms & Parents is an online community of Black LGBTQ+ persons who are parents, soon-to-be parents, and/or actively play a parenting role in a child's life. We come together to build the village, find the resources, and get the tools needed to develop and nurture healthy families in the face of racism and the Black reproductive health crisis, homophobia, and transphobia. Our community is currently represented in ten countries, with 3000 members, and is ever-growing.

Mia Cooley founded the Facebook group Black LGBTQ+ Moms and Parents in 2018. The group has grown to 3200 plus members and is growing. xHood aims to nurture this growing community further as it begins to address its target demographic and expand to reach a broader, more inclusive stance (CIS men).

The inaugural Black Parent PRIDE Summit in Atlanta, GA, from June 26, 2022 - to June 27, 2022, is a weekend for Black LGBTQ+ parents to convene and connect. We are bringing together 150 attendees and 30+ speakers from all over the country. xHood is creating a community of Black queer people who feel empowered to build and nurture healthy families and parent happy children.

We are guiding and supporting the Black LGBTQ+ community as they navigate the impacts of the Black reproductive health crisis, systemic racism, homophobia, and transphobia on our family building and nurturing journeys.
