Our guest this week (Tuesday, March 1^st and Thursday, March 3^rd, 9 pm ET) is Faulu Mtume, son of the departed Grammy award winning songwriter, producer and artist, James Mtume. For five decades James Mtume was a groundbreaking creator of hits such as the multi-platinum 1983 smash, "Juicy Fruit" – which has since been sampled by many artists in the hip-hop world. Prior to that, James Mtume recorded with jazz legends such as Miles Davis as well as produced top 10 pop hits for Roberta Flack – "The Closer I Get to You", the Grammy winning "Never Knew Love Like This Before" for Stephanie Mills and the dance/R&B classic, "You Know How to Love Me" by Phyllis Hyman. James Mtume passed on January 8th, 2022, at the age of 76. His son, Faulu, joins us to share his father's legacy.
