Follow on Google News | The Magnanimity of Truths and Thank You'sGary Orleck's Remarkable Nonfiction Debut, "Travels with Maurice"
By: TouchPoint Press As an Iranian socialite and billionaire, Maurice holds an enigmatic backstory Orleck strives to represent holistically by supplementing his own memories with research from media archives and news articles. What results is an honest homage to a lifelong friendship—one based on genuine human connection rather than wealth or status. By taking part in his memories of Maurice, Orleck hopes readers encounter the unflinching honesty that stands behind this retrospective nonfiction narrative. About the Book "A simple, 'thank you,' changed my life…" Travels with Maurice is a portrait of a lifelong friendship between me, a tire salesman's son from Rhode Island, and the enigmatic Maurice—a fabulously wealthy Iranian socialite and son of a mysterious billionaire. Although mismatched, after college, we set off on a swashbuckling ad-venture through Europe. The narrative is similar to Bill Bryson's hit memoir, Neither Here Nor There: Travels in Europe, in that it concerns two friends traversing across Europe in search of enlightenment, beer, and women. Travels with Maurice is available for pre-order at https://amzn.to/ About Gary Orleck Gary Orleck is a successful businessman graduated from a prestigious college with a BSBA four-year degree. Gary worked to graduate in three years because he was in a rush to help his dad's business grow (which he did succeed in doing!). Gary worked his way around the USA on Route 66 in 1966, picking cotton in Texas, unloading trailer loads of books in St. Louis, and working at numerous Goodyear tire store all over California. Gary is so grateful for the opportunity his work gave him to experience a ten-week, twelve country, 19,985-mile jaunt through Europe with the sone of the richest man in the world in 1968.
