Follow on Google News | Irvine Community Land Trust Welcomes Tammy Kim to New Role in Affordable HousingA resident of Irvine for the past two decades, Kim brings passion and enthusiasm for ICLT's mission along with extensive experience, initially in the corporate world and later in the nonprofit community. Kim spent more than 20 years in executive roles in the corporate world prior to co-founding and then serving as Managing Director of the Korean American Center in Irvine. It is the largest nonprofit organization in Orange County serving the Korean American community with healthcare, mental health, and social safety net programs. Kim, who was raised in difficult economic circumstances, has always been driven by a desire to help others. After successfully climbing the corporate ladder, she chose to invest her own resources to create the Korean American Center to serve the local immigrant community. A respected civic and community leader, Kim is committed to helping Irvine remain a thriving place to work and live for residents with diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. "We have been fortunate to have strong board members since we began and once again, with the addition of Tammy, we are welcoming a person with high energy and a passion for truly helping the community. I know Tammy will be a tremendous asset for ICLT and for the community at large," said Mark Asturias, ICLT executive director. Elected to the Irvine City Council in 2020, Kim also has served as Finance Commissioner for the City of Irvine, Chair of the Language Access Committee for the Orange County Registrar of Voters and a member of the Steering Committee for the Irvine Global Village Festival She currently represents the City of Irvine by serving on the boards of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control and the Orange County Public Libraries. She also serves on the Board of Irvine's Green Ribbon Committee and Irvine Child Care Project and is on the liaison committee for Irvine Unified School District.
