BOULDER, Colo. - March 17, 2022 - PRLog -- For couples who are trying to conceive, knowledge is power, and that's exactly what Proov Predict & Confirm aims to provide. Comprised of 15 LH tests (ovulation tests) and 5 PdG (progesterone marker) tests, this kit identifies your 2 most fertile days and confirms ovulation quality.

To understand how Proov Predict & Confirm works and why its results matter, it helps to review how to get pregnant. Here's a quick refresher of what happens during conception:
  1. There is a surge in luteinizing hormone (LH), triggering the release of an egg
  2. The egg travels down the fallopian tube and the ovary produces progesterone
  3. Cervical mucus becomes more slippery
  4. Sperm cells travel up the fallopian tube with the help of the cervical mucus
  5. A sperm cell unites with the egg, resulting in an embryo
  6. The embryo travels to the uterus, where it implants thanks to elevated progesterone

While much of this process is out of your control, you can increase your chances of conceiving by prioritizing intimacy during your most fertile window. To determine when that might be, use Proov Predict LH test.

A single kit comes with enough LH test strips for monitoring one full cycle. By testing your urine twice a day as directed, you can identify the most opportune time to be intimate. With 99% accuracy, the strips will detect precisely when your LH surges, so you know when you're about to ovulate.

You can then ensure sperm is already waiting for the egg. Sperm cells can survive in the female body for up to five days, so having intercourse prior to ovulation can result in pregnancy.

Then, confirm ovulation and ovulation quality with Proov Confirm PdG tests. A "high quality" ovulation is comprised of two steps. First, the egg is released. Second, the empty follicle, or corpus luteum, left in the ovary produces enough progesterone to prepare the lining of the uterus for implantation. That way, if the egg is fertilized, the resulting embryo can go on to thrive.

As long as both steps occur, ovulation quality is considered successful, strong, or sufficient. With Proov Confirm PdG tests, you can determine ovulation quality at home by testing the PdG levels in your urine roughly 7-10 days after peak fertility. Also with 99% accuracy, these tests will help you determine if PdG levels allow for a higher chance of implantation and pregnancy.

As an added benefit, Proov Predict & Confirm is compatible with the free Proov Insight app, so there's no need to buy any additional devices to decipher your results. Simply scan your test strips, and the app will do the rest.

How Long Does Ovulation Last?

When you're trying to conceive, timing is so important. This includes knowing how long the egg remains in the fallopian tube, since you'll inevitably want to take advantage of that window.

The average woman has "peak fertility" for about two days every month. In addition to changing hormone levels, which you can detect with various urine tests, you may notice a change in your discharge after ovulation.

During ovulation, cervical mucus becomes thinner and wetter, so sperm cells can pass through it easier. After ovulation, it becomes drier and stickier.

Once you notice this change in discharge and get a positive PdG test — indicating ovulation — your fertile window has likely closed, so intercourse has a lower chance of resulting in pregnancy until the next cycle.
