Applications open for Mary Free Bed's new neurologic occupational therapy fellowship

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - April 6, 2022 - PRLog -- Occupational therapists can get advanced clinical training and further their expertise with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation's new Neurologic Occupational Therapy Fellowship. It's the first of its kind for the hospital and one of only a few nationwide, focused on therapy for patients who've experienced brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions.

Applications for eligible occupational therapists are being accepted through April 15.

The fellowship provides exposure to education, research and multidisciplinary clinical environments. It's being offered in partnership with Western Michigan University.

Fellows will benefit from a combination of expert mentorship, didactic education, teaching, and a dynamic clinical experience. Clinical time will be split between Mary Free Bed's inpatient rehabilitation hospital and outpatient therapy locations. Fellows also will gain teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member at WMU and volunteer in its Neuro Rehab Clinic.
