Follow on Google News | Noztek Releases a New Desktop Lab Extruder - The fusionXA fully stainless steel hot melt desktop extruder, specialised for pharmaceutical manufacturing. With active bespoke mixing screw and unique interchangeable 'blending blades' to take mixing to a new level.
By: Noztek Robust stainless steel design Small batch capability – 7g minimum to produce filament Split barrel design for easy cleaning Continuous melting and mixing Adjustable mixing and cutting inserts Small footprint desktop design (68x24cm) Three independently controlled heating elements Motor speed control Laptop integration for control, data monitoring and analysis Multiple dies are being developed, including a thin sheet design BLENDING BLADES The mixing screw shears the material against up to 3 staggered interchangeable blending blades. The blending blades, made from hardened and tempered stainless steel, can be configured in a way to refine the mixing progress. For example, larger inserts placed at the front and reducing the insert size at the next two points of contact. The steel inserts play a dual role, as they also balance the screw in a perfectly central position within the barrel. This ensures the material is in constant circulation between the screw and the barrel. HEATING A bespoke 1000w ceramic heater sits in a copper housing, a unique heating system designed in-house. The fusionX also uses a 485w Watlow band heater to maintain accurate nozzle temperatures. EASY TO CLEAN The solid stainless steel split barrel is designed for fast disassembly, allowing you to clean both the barrel and the screw after every extrusion run. TEMPERATURE SENSORS The fusionX has three independent thermocouples, one manages the ceramic heater temperature, the second reads the temperature just before the first mixing blade and the final sensor records the accurate temperature of the nozzle. ELECTRONICS powered by a Traco auto voltage sensing power supply and Noztek's in-house designed PCB and related software/interface DATA Full real time data retrieval and downloadable graph and charts using the Noztek controller software.
