June 5, World Environment Day: what is #Revamping?

BARCELONA, Spain - June 3, 2022 - PRLog -- Because in addition to avoiding the waste of energy, contributing to the struggle against global warming and climate change; it can mean great savings in the consumption of services.

It is very logical if we take into account that the industrial park of Spain (mostly) dated from the second industrial revolution more than 50 years ago. With the arrival of microelectronics and connectivity added to technological advances we have gained in optimization improvements. But let's take it one step at a time. What does it mean exactly?

REVAMPING: the technique that gives industrial boilers a new life by improving them.

Advances in digitization and technification of industrial processes and related activities mean that every year there are improvements related to energy saving and/or optimization. Electronics, materials, monitoring and prevention are some of the factors that we can control and help with the improvement.

As a consequence, old machines become obsolete. At a certain point, they need to be removed or upgraded: they need to be "revamped" to put them back to work.

We can say that it is based on four specific developments::

• HEAT RECOVERY UNITS
They take advantage of the energy contained in the hot fumes coming out of the chimney. They heat combustion air, feed water or other secondary fluids.

• ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS
Modern combustion and boiler control systems are much more accurate and reliable than the old mechanical systems. Their application can generate electrical and fuel savings.

• THERMAL INSULATION
Proper thermal insulation of equipment, piping and valves is essential for energy savings. A detailed analysis of the plant establishes the field of action to increase energy savings.

• PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The correct calibration of combustion, especially with the change of season, can generate significant fuel savings, as well as increase the safety and reliability of the equipment.
