Follow on Google News | June is National Safety Month. Prioritize Workplace Safety with Stronghold®By: Stronghold® Safety Engineering Every June, the National Safety Council promotes workplace safety with National Safety Month. For more than a quarter century, they've used this time of year to spotlight common hazards, and equip businesses with resources to educate their staff. As you might expect, this is our favorite time of year at Stronghold®! In fact, we love any opportunity we get to spread awareness of workplace safety. What are the Themes for National Safety Month 2022? During National Safety Month, the National Safety Council appoints a "theme" for each week to illuminate risks to workplace safety. For example, this year, Week 1 brought attention to Musculoskeletal Disorders caused by common workplace conditions. Meanwhile, Week 2 highlighted impairment caused by stress, mental distress, and fatigue. To support the NSC, we like to underscore the simple ways that industry leaders can address the theme of the week. Week 3: Injury Prevention During National Safety Month, encourage your staff to identify any hazards that could cause injury without practical solutions, such as by installing machine safeguarding. If you haven't invested in a professional risk assessment in a while, then this is the perfect month to do so! Week 4: Slips, Trips, and Falls From slippery surfaces to walkway obstructions, there's an abundance of fall risks in most work environments. Installing adequate fall protection solutions is an excellent way to honor the spirit of the week! Safeguard Your Operations Every Month with Stronghold® Safety National Safety Month is quickly coming to an end, but operational safety is essential 12 months of the year.
