Brindle Books Brings Back The Bulldog…for Britain!

WAKEFIELD, U.K. - June 27, 2022 - PRLog -- UK book publisher Brindle Books Ltd have launched the first book in their new 'Brindle Classics, Crime and Thriller' collection, which is to be a uniform series for collectors of classic crime literature.

Bulldog Drummond, by "Sapper" (the pen-name of author H.C. McNeile), is the story of the demobilised army officer who comes home after the First World War to find peace-time dull, and embarks on a new career as a detective/adventurer.

Brindle's Director, Richard Hinchliffe says: "In addition to our commitment to produce new, quality fiction from modern authors, such as P G Dixon, and David J Blackmore, we also want to give readers the opportunity to get their hands on physical copies of older works. We are starting with Bulldog Drummond, one of the great adventure titles of the early 20^th century, a precursor to James Bond, and a huge influence on Ian Fleming's own writing. Indeed, the author once famously described his 007 character as 'Sapper from the waist up and Mickey Spillane below'.

There will be regular releases in the Brindle Classics Crime and Thriller collection, alongside our releases of more modern works, and we intend to branch out into other genres in the future."
