Alabama Goodwill Industries / Pathways PartnershipPathways and Alabama Goodwill collaborate to make a bigger impact in the community.
By: Alabama Goodwill "Pathways is excited to partner with Alabama Goodwill to provide the women we serve with essential items we don't have access to or have the space to store at our location. This partnership will allow for donors to directly impact Pathways, just in a different way. We often get requests to take furniture or clothing items that we can't accept. Now we can forward these individuals to drop off items at the Oporto-Madrid Goodwill location and their donations will impact both of our agencies. This reinforces our belief that when we come together, we can make an even bigger difference in our community," said Laurel Teel, Director of Development. Last year, AGI, an organization that provides services for the Greater Birmingham area community members with barriers to employment, provided 23,481 services including job and life skills training, digital literacy and technical skills training, job preparation, job placement, coaching, and career development. Pathways, an organization that serves homeless women and children in Jefferson County served 24 mothers and 46 children and offered over 23,000 meals to women and children in need last year. These two organizations work toward the same mission of supporting and encouraging people to get back on their feet in the community and both organizations will benefit with each donation made through this partnership. "We at Goodwill are very excited to partner with Pathways for the benefit of those we both serve! Our collaboration will result in increased and more effective service for women and children experiencing homelessness, and for those experiencing employment barriers in our community," said President and CEO of Alabama Goodwill, David Wells.
