An act that provided protections against mistreatment, and discrimination of any disabled citizen. But in the early 1900's, President Theodore Roosevelt signed into law a retirement benefit program for retirees over 65 years of age, but the Social Security disability program wasn't enacted until 1954. But the average disability benefit as of the first fiscal quarter of 2022 is $1,536.94. According to the United States Census Bureau, before the Covid-19 emergency in 2019; it were 41.1 million Americans with a disability, 7.9 million were disabled workers. The United States CPI report for June 2022 was an inflation rate at 9.1%. A Social Security Administration representative projected the 2023 COLA increase to be 10.5 % for beneficiaries, but that's only $161.38 for the average monthly financial payout. But the average annual income for a disabled American is $ 20379.84. Disability Pride Month started in the month of July in 1990.
