Follow on Google News | AFAC Hires Brian Reach as Associate Director of Marketing and CommunicationsBrian brings over 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and deep roots in Northern Virginia.
"I'm very pleased to have Brian Reach on our staff as we enter a new and very challenging year," says Charles Meng, Chief Executive Officer of AFAC, "a year when even more families suffering from inflation in food and fuel are coming to our doors seeking help." As Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, Brian will report to the Director of Development. He is responsible for raising awareness of AFAC's work in the community, creating engaging content, maintaining relationships with community partners and the media, developing communications strategies, working with the rest of the Development office in support of grant work and fundraising, and as a "jack of all trades" has also taken on IT management responsibilities. "Brian will be a wonderful addition to the AFAC development team as we start our new year with a strong focus on new opportunities outside of Arlington County. Given his experience, he'll be a significant part of our new growth and development." Brian also brings a great deal of relevant experience from his LGBTQ+ activism; he currently serves as President and Executive Director of NOVA Pride, a 501c3 he founded in 2011, as well as other LGBTQ+ board and task force assignments. A Northern Virginia local, whose grandparents met at Fairfax High School, Brian is extremely passionate about the area and is personally dedicated to making an impact on the lives of his neighbors in need. AFAC looks forward to a bright future with Brian on the team. The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is an independent, community-based non-profit food pantry that provides dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries to our neighbors in need.
