Fresno Social Sports now operating under the umbrella of Social Sports of California

FRESNO, Calif. - July 25, 2022 - PRLog -- In its two years of operation, Fresno Social Sports has engaged the Fresno/Clovis community by providing adult sports leagues and events with the mission of bringing people together, spotlighting the fantastic businesses in the valley, and creating an organization where anyone can join and escape the monotony of everyday life.

Founders Eric de Jong and Luis Parrales are longtime Fresno residents tired of hearing "there's nothing to do in Fresno." They created Fresno Social Sports as a way for adults to have something new to do that is fun, entertaining, and slightly edgy.

Fresno Social Sports started with its signature sport, kickball, and has quickly grown to include pickleball, dodgeball, bowling leagues, cornhole leagues, bar game leagues, and community events. Participation has grown from several dozen members in 2020 to over 2000 active members.

Through the growing popularity of Fresno Social Sports, official partnerships have been created with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Fresno Grizzlies, Fresno State Athletics, Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co., Crow & Wolf Brewing, Goldstein's, South of Shaw Brewing, Raisels, and many more companies.

After much consideration, Mr. de Jong and Mr. Parrales decided that the most effective way to continue to make an impact on Fresno & the surrounding communities would be to form a nonprofit organization.

Enter Social Sports of California (SSC). Through this nonprofit organization, Fresno Social Sports will be able to play a fundamental role in creating a thriving community for all. The primary focus will continue to be adult social sports leagues and will also expand to festivals, social activities, the promotion of preserving and creating recreational facilities in the Valley, and making recreational activities accessible to all.

Through already established partnerships, Fresno Social Sports will continue to grow its presence throughout the Valley while accessing key funding that will allow the organization to do more in our communities.

The mission remains the same - make Fresno a place people want to be. The possibilities in which to accomplish this goal are now endless.
