ABA Horizons' Parent Training services aim to provide a cost-effective alternative to help families nationwide via Tele-Services
By: ABA Horizons One of the consequences of the pandemic was the provision of remote services becoming increasingly common in educational and healthcare settings. ABA Horizons shifted their focus to offer a cost-effective alternative. Their supervisors (Board Certified Behaviour Analysts - BCBA) work with families themselves, providing training in the principal skills and knowledge of ABA, and offer professional feedback and oversight. Using information & communication technology, ABA Parent Training services are: > Affordable - With no tutor to fund, lower rates for a supervisor and no other costs or expenses, parents can access a cost-effective ABA programme. > Flexible - convenient around parents' busy schedule, with options for additional time with professionals. > Consistent – affordability and flexibility allow for Parent Training and supervision to occur consistently, thus effectively. > Safe – a viable alternative for those concerned with potential risks of in person services. > Pragmatic Investment - By learning the skills and knowledge of a tutor, parents can help their child whenever needed, or whenever a learning opportunity presents itself - for all those times a Tutor is not there! Their late founder José Merida (FL-CBA) was adamant "that children on the spectrum in the UK should have access to evidence-based services, such as ABA". ABA Horizons believe their Parent Training services take them a step closer towards achieving this goal. ABA Horizons follow the codes of ethics set out by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) and UK Society for Behaviour Analysis (UK-SBA).
