An event that startled all Americans as the new millennium brought in a new century. A time that began a reset of digits 00.00. A computer programming malfunction that caused many to fear a complete economic meltdown of society. As of 2022, another event of a different kind has the globe on alert. This event is extreme heat, and drought. This drastic change in weather has caused the depletion of water resources, and food. The NOAA reported that in the United States alone there is a drought coverage of 44.6%. A deputy global editor that goes by the name of Nikhil Kumar spoke in a recent report that the current world food crisis is not entirely because of the Ukraine war with Russia. According to the CNN Reporter Judson Jones, the continual drought has caused agriculture issues in the Great Plains, and water scarcity in the Northeastern states.

As many as 828 million people go to bed hungry every night, the number of those facing acute food insecurity has soared - from 135 million to 345 million - since 2019.
