Milner and Gilbert Declared Champions of Member-Guest Tournament at Traditions Golf and Country Club

JEFFERSON, Ga. - July 26, 2022 - PRLog -- Representing the most significant tournament of the season at the scenic Jackson County golf course, Traditions Golf and Country Club (TGCC) played host to its annual Member-Guest Tournament in early June. The event comprised 54 teams of country club members and their guests who competed in a 3-day tournament marked by round robin match play leading to a shootout to determine the championship team – with a number of social events in between. TGCC member and City of Jefferson resident, Shane Milner earned the title of "Champ" along with his guest and Atlanta resident, Jarrett Gilbert.

"I have been playing this course since 2004," said Milner. "Between the new owners and Stacy Jones as the new Golf Superintendent, the Traditions course is by far the best it's ever been in 18 years. The greens, the bunkers, the fairways… everything was perfect for the Member-Guest Tournament. This course is a good challenge, and it has brought up my game. And that's saying something. I have been playing golf since I was a child. My first job at 16 was at a golf course. I graduated school and went into the PGA program as an assistant pro in Atlanta for 3 years. My entire life has been golf."

While his team mate, Gilbert, didn't hesitate to share Milner's glowing review of TGCC's "top-notch" course conditions, he made a point to pay his compliments to the chef. That chef is Director of Restaurant Operations, Brock Anderson of Twenty7, TGCC's flagship restaurant. Anderson and his culinary team catered the tournament from start to finish, including an Asian-fusion feast on the first night of the tournament and a couples' dinner featuring a bistro filet and risotto to round out the event. Gilbert shared, "The food was unbelievable. Brock did an amazing job. It was 100 times better than it's ever been at previous tournaments."

Located at 350 Traditions Way in Jefferson, Georgia, upcoming tournaments at Traditions Golf and Country Club include the three-day Member-Member tournament the weekend of September 24-25 and the Club Championship on October 14-16.
