APS and PayPal Executives Elected to Arizona Technology Council Board of Directors

Council Adds Critical Energy and Cybersecurity Expertise at its July 2022 Board Meeting
PHOENIX - July 29, 2022 - PRLog -- The Arizona Technology Council today announced it has appointed Todd Komaromy, director of Resource Planning, Arizona Public Service (APS), and Assaf Keren, chief information security officer and vice president, Enterprise Cyber Security, PayPal, to its board of directors. Komaromy and Keren were elected unanimously to serve three-year terms at the Council's quarterly board meeting held on July 28, 2022.

"Cybersecurity talent and innovation in clean energy have been two of the Council's largest priorities over the past few years," said Steven G. Zylstra, the Council's president and CEO. "Adding Todd and Assaf to our board of directors provides us with much-needed expertise in these critical technology sectors. We're proud to welcome them to our board and value their input as we continue our mission to grow our innovation economy."

The board of directors serves an advisory and fiduciary role by representing the interests of the state's technology sectors in the Council's strategic planning and ongoing operations. The current board consists of 35 members representing a diverse set of organizations, including American Express, Lyft, PayPal and many other top technology companies.

Todd Komaromy, director of Resource Planning, APS

Komaromy began his APS career 20 years ago, supporting generation projects. In the years since, he has held roles of increasing responsibility in transmission and distribution, federal regulatory compliance and state regulatory affairs. In his role as director, he leads the development and implementation of APS's future resource plans and the evaluation of all resource alternatives. Komaromy earlier practiced intellectual property law on the West Coast and internationally while working for a few of the largest Phoenix-based law firms.

A Midwest transplant, Komaromy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Arizona State University. He currently serves as board chair for nonprofit Foundation for Senior Living. Komaromy and his family enjoy supporting Buckeye athletics, youth sports and leisure travel.

Assaf Keren, chief information security officer and vice president, Enterprise Cyber Security, PayPal

Keren oversees all aspects of PayPal's security product and service delivery organization globally as chief information security officer and vice president. He provides strategic leadership for PayPal's security teams, which build security products, manage security infrastructure and provide security services for the company's customer base.

Keren also serves as on the advisory board or committee of multiple organizations local and globally, and is a respected mentor throughout the fintech and technology communities.
