It Could Happen To Any One Of Us

LAS VEGAS - Aug. 2, 2022 - PRLog -- I bumped into an old friend of mine in the supermarket the other day. Donna had horrific news... she told me she's fighting Stage 4 inoperable lung cancer. Apparently, it's  spread to the brain, throat, windpipe, several ribs, and left hip. She recently had brain surgery, and the plan now is to attack the cancer with chemo, radiation, medication and radiosurgery.

Donna is a strong, exuberant person who has worked so hard throughout her life, always positive... always with a smile on her face. She's been in the hospitality industry for the last 20 years, and had to quit her job because the chemo was making her too sick. The family is working on getting federal assistance to lessen the financial burden, but the process is very slow and the bills are piling up. As I understand it, her insurance only pays a small part of her regimen, and she's struggling to find a way to pay for upcoming treatments.

I've never started a fundraising page before, but browsing through goFundme.com  site gives me great hope -- and joy -- that so many people take the time to care for others they may not even know. They are all heroes.
