Cabrillo EDC Project Manager Accepted into Prestigious Housing Development Training Institute

VENTURA, Calif. - Aug. 18, 2022 - PRLog -- The Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) announced today – Ryan Ortiz as the newest selection for the prestigious Housing Development Training Institute (HDTI).

Ryan Ortiz, CEDC Project Manager - Real Estate Development Department (REDD), helps develop and manage service-enriched, inclusive residential communities, ensuring access to affordable, secure, quality housing that creates the foundation for our residents to grow and thrive. REDD's primary function is to complete the acquisition, finance, and pre-construction stages of affordable housing development.

HDTI helps nonprofit affordable housing staff build their skillset around development, equips them with technical information about accessing statewide resources, and connects them with a network of peers who are doing similar work and facing similar challenges that may be unique to rural affordable housing development.

With over 500 graduates the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Los Angeles created HDTI with the primary goal to increase the development capacity of community-based nonprofit development organizations. This year-long program provides intensive skill training and mentorship to advance leaders in the industry of affordable housing development.
