Daniel Santos says the inspiration behind
Life is Inevitable was sparked by the death of a friend. "She took her life a month before I graduated high school, and I always wondered, 'what if I could have her back?' That question started the entire story. Over time, I learned there were things going on in her life that I didn't know about. When I learned how bad her living conditions were, the novel turned into a story about abuse, neglect, and trauma."
