Community Eye Center Hires Experienced Ophthalmologist

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Sept. 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Community Eye Center Port Charlotte has hired ophthalmologist Boris Ovodenko, M.D., with 15 years of experience in advanced cataract surgery, including toric, extended depth of focus, and multi-focal implant technology as well as comprehensive eye care.

Dr. Ovodenko graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Johns Hopkins University in just three years and completed his medical degree at the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, N.Y.

After completing internship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., he went on to complete a Glaucoma Research Fellowship and Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then spent two and one-half years working alongside Richard Mackool, Sr., M.D., one of the foremost world leaders in cataract surgery. Following that very unique education, he had dedicated five years to training the next generation of eye surgeons at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Ovodenko's motto is "your vision is my passion."  He is a strong believer in and practitioner of evidence-based eye care. Keeping up with the latest advances in ophthalmology, particularly cataract surgery, is one of his biggest passions.

Originally from Ukraine, Dr. Ovodenko and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 12 years old. He has been a Florida resident since 2014.
