Saudi National Day History

Before the advent of Islam, nomadic tribes inhabited the Arabian peninsula. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) united these tribes to create a single Islamic nation-state. The Muslim community quickly expanded throughout the Middle East after his death in 632, from Spain in the west to parts of the Indian subcontinent in the east. The region was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, and modern Saudi Arabia was born when the Ottoman Empire collapsed at the end of World War I. Al-Haram and Masjid Al Nabawi, were under his rule. The day has also been known as Saudi National Day since that time.

Since 2005, Saudi citizens have celebrated their cultural heritage, shown pride in their country, and looked to the future on September 23rd. In the Kingdom, traditional festivals, spectacular fireworks displays, and folk dances are used to celebrate National Day. Saudi flags are flown above the streets and buildings.

Saudi National Day Celebration

They perform breathtaking stunts as they fly over famous cities and beaches all day long.
