Former Chair of Cleveland Clinic-Florida Ophthalmology Department Joins Quigley Eye Specialists

NAPLES, Fla. - Sept. 21, 2022 - PRLog -- Ophthalmologist Dr. George Corrent, who formerly chaired the Department of Ophthalmology of Cleveland Clinic – Florida, has joined Quigley Eye Specialists in the Naples office.

Dr. Corrent, who also holds a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from Rice University in Houston, Tex., specializes in corneas, infectious diseases of the eyes, ocular allergies, and glaucoma as well as cataract surgery.

Dr. Corrent received his undergraduate degree in zoology at Duke University in Durham, N.C. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and went on to complete an internal medicine internship at the University of Florida – Jacksonville, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis, and a cornea and external eye diseases fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.

He served as chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic-Florida from 1990 to 2005.

Dr. Corrent is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and more.

He was named to the Castle Connolly "Top Doctors in Florida" list for 12 straight years and has published 15 papers in scientific and medical journals in addition to writing two book chapters.
