By: Ashiana Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant The Ashiana Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant is up for the award Restaurant of the Year - East Midlands Alongside three other highly-regarded restaurants in the East Midlands (Little India at Arnesby, The Spice Lounge at Higham Ferrers and Taste of India at Rothwell) but owner Sai Miah has his fingers crossed that the Ashiana will bring home another trophy for their cabinet. "The Ashiana is not just a restaurant, it's a family and we genuinely believe that this is key to our success. We are family owned and run but our valued customers are also part of the Ashiana family. They have supported us through the difficulties of the last few years and continue to support the Ashiana as all hospitality businesses struggle in the current economic climate. We are so very grateful to them and they are always at the heart of everything we do here at the Ashiana," said Sai. The ARTA awards aim to celebrate Britain's vibrant Asian restaurants and takeaways and offer support to the industry which is currently facing the challenges of high energy costs, inflation and the impact of the pandemic. The competition's organisers say more than 2,370 restaurants and takeaways across the UK that were nominated. Speaking about the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2022, Mohammed Munim, founder member and CEO of ARTA, said: "The ARTA awards are a celebration and recognition of these exceptional restaurants, takeaways, chefs, and restaurateurs all across the country, who are serving their local communities so exceptionally well. Each nominee is a worthy winner, and we look forward to celebrating with them all at the award ceremony on the 2nd of October." The winners will be announced at a red carpet event at the InterContinental Hotel at The O2 London on Sunday, October 2. The Ashiana has been family owned and run since 2009 and is no stranger to winning as it has won many national restaurant awards for the high quality of its food over the years, including awards at the Curry Life Awards, the English Curry Awards and it has been a finalist at the British Curry Awards. Fingers crossed that the Ashiana Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant will bring home another trophy and national recognition of the quality of Indian food to Newark once again. https://ashiana.net End
