The Projection Booth joins Weirding Way Media Network

DETROIT - Sept. 27, 2022 - PRLog -- Long-time podcast partners Mike White (The Projection Booth) and Chris Stachiw (The Kulturecast) have teamed up to form Weirding Way Media (www.weirdingwaymedia.com), a new podcast network, in order to support an array of movie, TV, and pop culture podcasts from like-minded creators.

"We're not limiting ourselves to just pure entertainment," says Stachiw from his office outside Omaha, Nebraska.  "We plan on offering a wide array of shows and a diverse group of podcasters.  There's a glut of shows that all sound alike and we hope to showcase some under-heard and under-appreciated voices."

"We presently have 19 shows," White adds on the line from Detroit.  "Chris and I have worked on many of these but I look forward to onboarding other artists.  The show I'm most proud of a the moment is Susan Lambert Hatem's '80s TV Ladies' which discusses female detective roles like 'Cagney & Lacy' and 'Remmington Steele'.  It's a terrific idea wonderfully executed."

Other shows include Mark Begley's Wake Up Heavy: Recollections of Horror, Jamie Bennings's Filmumentaries, and Father Malone's Midnight Viewing: A Night Gallery Podcast.  "If people didn't know any better they'd think we were stuck in 1970s with the focus on Barney Miller, Columbo, and Kolchak," jokes White.

Stachiw has been the stalwart host of The Kulturecast for over eight years while White's The Projection Booth is closing in on twelve years and 600 episodes.  "Longevity doesn't always equate to enjoyability but I'd like to think that we've been honing our crafts for a while," White adds.  "We try to go beyond a bunch of chuckleheads laughing at our own jokes and making fun of bad movies.  There are too many shows like that.  We both try hard to lift things up rather than tear them down."
