MIDDLETOWN, Del. - Oct. 3, 2022 - PRLog -- The COVID pandemic has seriously affected people's attitude to their health and appearance. In the Health & Wellness/Fitness apps category, workout and weight loss apps are dominating. Some apps to note here however are dance apps as an alternative to fitness. Roman Podgursky, CEO of the Everdance app, shares why they are becoming more popular and how online dance classes can improve physical and mental health.

"More and more people nowadays are facing the problem of excess weight, depression, loneliness and stress, and the pandemic has only worsened this situation," Podgursky notes, "The fact that due to a lack of time, finances, psychological problems, etc. many people who fall into these categories do not have the opportunity to attend gyms or dance studios. Our mobile app Everdance removes these barriers, giving the opportunity to learn to dance and increase their physical activity in a convenient place and time . It also helps them to find new friends and like-minded people in the dance community."

Experts from the World Health Organisation advise to make more active use of online resources offering a range of physical exercises, including dancing. A number of scientific studies have shown the effectiveness of dancing to strengthen physical and mental health. According to one study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, dancing reduces the risk of mental illness by 76% - including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.

The Everdance startup is only 3 years old. You can learn about us here: https://everdance.app/, but its dance community already has more than 100K people around the world. Moreover, there are more than 350 classes and programs from more than 200 professional instructors from around the world. A couple of months ago, the participants of pop star Lizzo's show 'Watch Out For The Big GRRRLS', named Kiki and Jasmine, presented their dance classes in the app.

All trending dance styles are available in the Everdance app: from K-pop and Hip-Hop to popular dances from Tiktok. Classes are created for all dance levels, including Fitness Dance and workouts. Just 15 minutes a day can help you maintain an active physical lifestyle against the furious pace of modern life.

The WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of intense physical activity per week, or a combination of both. It is extremely important to adhere to these recommendations, since sedentary work and a decrease in physical activity can have a negative impact on your health and quality of life, causing additional stress and a threat to mental health.
