Free The Voices March and RallyBy: BRING HIM HOME CAMPAIGN LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Oct. 10, 2022 - PRLog -- SUBJECT – PROTEST / / MARCH / RALLY
FREE THE VOICES OF BREONNA MARCH AND RALLY Several civil rights groups, activists, and clergy associations will conduct a march and rally on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 to protest and demand that charges against 26 individuals be dropped and a federal verdict against one be tossed out in relation to the unrest that occurred in the wake of the LMPD killing of Breonna Taylor. The Coalition of Concerned African Americans, The National Action Network of Louisville, The Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, The Breeway Protestors, The Voice of Louisville, The Interdenominational Clergy Association, Gospel Missionary Church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, Joshua Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, and several prominent clergy civil rights leaders will stage the "Free the Voices" march and rally this coming weekend. The group states that in light of the fact that the unrest never would have happened if the LMPD had not conspired to illegally obtain the search warrant that resulted in the shooting of Breonna Taylor in March 2020, thus none of the individuals arrested or convicted would have ever happened. Four LMPD Officers have been arrested, charged and one convicted thus far by federal authorities in the Breonna Taylor killing for conspiring to cover up how they illegally obtained a no-knock search warrant of her home resulting in her death which triggered months of protests. While 26 individuals are still pending charges resulting from their protesting activities one has been tried and convicted by a Federal Kentucky Court. Activist and militia leader John F Johnson aka Grand Master Jay, who led two legally armed demonstrations demanding justice and transparency into the Breonna Taylor investigation, was convicted for allegedly pointing his weapon-mounted flashlight at federally deputized LMPD officers stationed on a rooftop overlooking the protest the night of Sept 4th, 2020. Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on November 9th and has remained in jail since the trial in May 2022. The groups believe that Johnson was targeted by the LMPD and did not receive a fair trial. They are demanding his verdict be tossed out and that he be freed. The march will begin at 2 pm at Joshua Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 426 S 15th Street, Louisville, KY and proceed to King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 Anderson Street, Louisville, KY where the groups will rally with several speakers. https://www.justiceforgmj.com/ Contact Crystal D Woods (404) 782-4485 The Coalition of Concerned African Americans ***@justice4gmj.com End
