The Daily Chemist's suggestions on World Mental Health Day

It's a pretty well acknowledged idea that you should treat your mental health just as seriously as you would your physical health. Talking openly about therapy and mental illness is becoming less taboo.

BRACKNELL, U.K. - Oct. 12, 2022 - PRLog -- In order to make mental health care something we actually do rather than just talk about, we've selected some of the most effective and approachable methods to do it this year on World Mental Health Day.

Respect yourself:

Avoid self-criticism and be gentle and respectful to yourself. Consider expanding your horizons or scheduling more of your favourite pursuits and activities. Do a crossword puzzle every day, start a garden, learn to dance, pick up an instrument, or master a foreign language.

Allowing yourself to take a day for mental wellness when necessary:

You are aware of when you require one and are confident that taking one will increase your productivity and make you more pleasant to be around. Why then do we all act so self-centeredly when we do it? Consider taking a day off to unwind and recharge as preventive medication. By giving your body (and immune system) some time to catch up, you may be able to avoid having a real sick day in the future.

Be in the company of moral people:

Healthier individuals tend to be those with strong social or family ties as opposed to those with no such network. Plan events with empathetic family members and friends, or look for opportunities to socialise with new people at a club, class, or support group.

Spend 5 minutes in meditation:

Yes, it appears like yoga teachers are the only ones who practise meditation, but it doesn't have to be a complete practise to be successful. It doesn't matter if you succeed or achieve enlightenment when you do it; the fact that you're spending a few minutes to decompress and concentrate on your breathing is incredibly important.

Get assistance whenever you need it:

Asking for assistance is a sign of strength, not weakness. Additionally, it's crucial to keep in mind that treatment works. When given the right care, people can overcome their addictions and mental illnesses and enjoy fulfilling lives.
