ALBANY, N.Y. - Oct. 26, 2022 - PRLog -- for years, it's been a topic of discussion that the Gallatin neighborhood will see some movement forward on the upgrading of Clearview Park. An amount of 90,000$ was set aside during the fiscal budget of year 2021-22 for new playground equipment at the park. This also brought hope for the residents of the city that a grant will get approved for the new community center but unfortunately the request was turned down.

Also, there was an update that American rescue plan act was working on the upgrades. But until now nothing has been done to the park.

Brenda said "Keeping in mind all the concerns of the residents of Gallatin neighborhood, we have created a new non profit to help a local park in my community. Over the past 30 years the park has fallen into decline with no major upgrades in the past few decades. At one point in this community's history the park served as a hub for that community. It was a place of freedom, community, and prosperity with something to do for everyone and we will get it back".

The city recently awarded the park a 2 million dollars investment to help build a new community center. The first goal of friends of Clearview park is to raise additional funds to help bring the community center we want and need into reality.

According to Joe woodard (Co founder of New Non Profit), the existing facility in the park that was built 25+ years ago is not unlocked for the people to use and it should be reserved immediately. The park goers can not access the restrooms located inside the park, which is horrible.

The recent Plans proposed for the new community park center mainly include a large rest room along with a stage with two smaller rooms where between 20 and 25 people can accommodate in each room. There is also going to be a food preparation area plus bathrooms that could be accessed by public even from outside of the building.

About Us: The non profit was started by Brenda Dotson, Teresa Dunn, Joe Woodard, Heather Flowers, Macio Franklin, Tyler Templeton, and Lywenda Black. The purpose of Friends of Clearview Park Inc. is to provide financial assistance and support for Clearview Park. Recently there goal is to raise funds for the park so they can get the work started and turn the dream into reality.
