Boys Hope Girls Hope Of Kansas City Announces Fueling Futures Breakfast

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nov. 3, 2022 - PRLog -- Boys Hope Girls Hope of Kansas City (BHGHKC) will host its annual Fueling Futures breakfast fundraiser on Tuesday, November 15, at Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills, Kansas to benefit academically motivated youth in need.

Fueling Futures is an important fundraising event for BHGHKC, raising nearly $100,000 annually.  Support from this event allows BHGHKC to provide food, housing, education, mentoring, clothing, medical services, and extracurricular activities for all their scholars. The uniqueness of the BHGHKC program includes the partnership with scholars and their families through high school graduation, post-secondary education, and into their early careers.

"Our Fueling Futures breakfast is providing hope to young people desiring the opportunity to reach their full potential in life," said Development Director, Miranda Mendez. "Our breakfast benefit is an opportunity for individuals, corporations, and community members to come together to fuel the future of the bright young men of BHGHKC."

The morning will also recognize the BHGHKC Young Professionals Board (YPB) for their commitment to BHGHKC. The YPB is made up of 13 young Kansas City professionals of differing backgrounds. The YPB supports BHGHKC and the Executive Board through fundraising and raising awareness about the organization, and the scholars by tutoring, providing dinners, and taking scholars on off-site excursions. The YPB has not only made a positive impact on the scholars but has raised over $50,000 for BHGHKC across the past three years.

Fueling Futures includes a panel of current scholars, community partners like American Century Investments, Country Club Bank, FCS Private Wealth Management, Open Door Homes, and notable local ambassadors like former Kansas City Chiefs player, Shawn Barber.  BHGHKC makes a deep investment in a select number of highly motivated youth who, at a significant rate, overcome challenging family circumstances and other systemic environmental risk factors to become high-performing individuals committed to bettering themselves and their communities.
