Follow on Google News | ![]() 2022 National Frozen Yogurt Shop Owner Survey Reveals State of Frozen Yogurt IndustryThe annual survey sponsored by the International Frozen Yogurt Association asked US froyo shop owners in the US about operational practices, shop and owner characteristics, supplier satisfaction, concerns, and shop performance.
The shop owner survey provides shop owners with benchmarks for assessing how they compare to other shops. It also provides a sense of how the frozen yogurt industry is doing. Froyo Shop Owner Findings The typical respondent this year owned one frozen yogurt shop and was not part of a franchise. The respondent/owner was also usually the main manager of the business. The survey found that 63% of respondents said their sales had returned to pre-pandemic levels. As in 2021, their main concerns were rising costs and finding and retaining good employees. Most are satisfied with their soft serve machines and soft serve mix suppliers. "It hasn't been easy but we've seen that many froyo shops have recovered from the pandemic and dealt with rising costs, a tight labor market, and supply chain shortages," said Susan Linton, IFYA President. "We hope that the survey results will help respondents understand trends and find new opportunities." Accessing the Survey Results The full results are available for $150.
