CANARY WHARF, U.K. - Dec. 1, 2022 - PRLog -- AKCP's flagship sensorProbe+ product line now includes Dual Factor Authentication for improved security. The sensorProbe+ series, which includes the SP1+, SP2+ and SPX+ base units, are used by the world's largest companies, government agencies, banks and the military. AKCP takes the security of their products seriously, with monthly published vulnerability scans and enhanced security functions in their base units.

The graphical user interface of the sensorProbe+ devices can be accessed by multiple users within your company's organization. Administrators create user accounts and set privileges for those users. With Dual Factor Authentication, an additional layer of security is added for those users logging in. When enabled, as well as entering their usual password, a one time password (OTP) is generated, sent to their e-mail and should be entered to gain access.

This secure logon method reduces the risks for hacked accounts and cyber attacks that could penetrate the device and exploit backdoors into the corporate infrastructure.

Enabling Two Factor Authentication on your AKCP sensorProbe+ is as easy as selecting the user account and password settings, entering the SMTP mail server settings, email address to which the OTP should be sent, and time frame for expiration of the OTP.

If you are using a sensorProbe+ base unit that has a built-in 4G cellular data modem, the OTP can also be sent via SMS message to the account holder's cell phone number. Alternatively, for even more security, the OTP can be sent to the system administrator whom the user must contact for the OTP and authorization to login to the sensorProbe+.

AKCP established in the USA in 1981, has 40+ years experience in professional sensor solutions. AKCP created the market for networked temperature, environmental and power monitoring in the data center. Today with over 150 employees and 200,000 installations, AKCP is the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions.
