Follow on Google News | Classic Albums Live Dark Side of the Moon and The Temptations Added to Weinberg ScheduleFounded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage - note for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. "Think of it as a recital," says Martin, "these albums are historic and stand the test of time." Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. "We don't dress up or wear any sort of costume. All our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album," says Martin. With 100+ shows a year across North America, Classic Albums Live has seen massive success. Considered trailblazers in the 60's, leading the way, not only for themselves, but for other R&B artists, The Temptations' rise to fame was meteoric. They were among the first African American musical artists to crossover into mainstream America and appear on popular, national mainstream television programs, such as The Ed Sullivan Show. At the time, this was an unparalleled accomplishment for African American entertainers. The group is now comprised of Dr. Otis Williams, the sole surviving original Temptation, and Ron Tyson, a lead vocalist with the group for 37 years, Terry Weeks, a lead vocalist for 23 years, Willie Greene, Jr., bass vocalist with the group for four years, and Mario Corbino, who joined the group this year.
