Student Music Video: Seeking Supporters!

ORANGE, Calif. - Jan. 25, 2023 - PRLog -- Inspired by the 90s riot grrrl movement, I've found a voice in my art. However, similar to the issue in the 90s of grrrl being very white-washed, there is a lack of disability representation. As a person with disabilities, not only is it important for me to expose people to accurate portrayals stripped of any stereotypes, but I also want that community to be truly included.

We are raising funds for an independent, student-led music video to supply equipment, props, music rights, etc.

Funds would go straight to technical equipment, materials for DIY sets, clothes, and securing the rights to a song that is also included. The extra money will truly allow us to go above and beyond, making the best video possible. We are seeking outside help, especially from those interested in inclusive and diverse projects.

We are at a turning point for minorities and marginalized communities. Women's bodies are more regulated than guns, COVID-19 is a breeding ground for ableism, and racism, homophobia, etc., is at an all-time high. Not only would riot grrrl be exposed to a whole new group of people, but is an opportunity for us filmmakers to make an impact and contribute to change.
