As the company looks to its next growth phase, Hempel will be responsible for VORAGO's brand positioning and messaging, and will lead marketing and communications strategy and execution, encompassing digital, campaigns, brand and communications. Hempel most recently served as Vice President of Marketing at Acumera, an Austin-based technology company specialized in managed network security and edge computing. Her previous experience includes leading the global product marketing team for the multi-billion dollar Power Systems line of business at IBM, as well as other key roles within the IBM Systems business. Prior to joining IBM, she spent 10+ years in agency-side roles, specializing in using data and market insights to inform her clients' marketing and communications strategy and tactics. She led large-scale global research efforts for Fortune 500 brands with a primary focus in the technology sector, working with brands including Microsoft, Dell and AMD. Hempel received her BA degree from the University of Southern California and served for many years as a board member and past president of the USC Alumni Club of Austin. She is passionate about mental health and women's issues and has served on the boards of several Austin-based nonprofits, including The Junior League of Austin, Integral Care Foundation (formerly New Milestones foundation) and Young Women's Alliance. http://www.voragotech.com/ End
