By: City of Hawthorne "We are thrilled to celebrate Black History Month while giving back to this community. It is important for residents to know we are here and present," said Dayna Williams-Hunter, Hawthorne's newly elected City Clerk. Hawthorne City Council members, city employees, and community leaders will be in attendance to celebrate with the community. Non-profit organizations, Our Commitment Inc. and Feed the Streets Cali (both 501c3 entities), will hand out socks and other essentials. The Hawthorne Police Department be present with the community truck. Other partners include South Bay Workforce Investment Board, and The Los Angeles Education Partnership's Early Head Start program. All food items are donated by The American Heart Association. (www.heart.org) The event will take place at Hawthorne City Hall, 4455 West 126th Street, Hawthorne, CA 90250.
