FREE Health and Leadership Spring Camp for Youth - Be An Inspiration Netball GoGirlGo Atlanta!

LITHONIA, Ga. - Feb. 16, 2023 - PRLog -- DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and Duluth Adventist Christian School is partnering with Netball America to provide a FREE Be An Inspiration®(BAI) GoGirlGo! Program for 10 weeks to over 1,000 community youth, focusing on girls aged 7 to 18 throughout DeKalb County.

Netball America, DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs, and Discover DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau are inviting the community and sponsors to join on February 18, 2023, for the Open Day where the community and youth can learn about the program while participating in fun-filled games through learning the globally popular sport of Netball.

Event location: Redan Recreation Center, 1839 Phillips Rd, Lithonia, Georgia, 30058
Open Day: Saturday, February 18, 2023, 10 am–Noon.
Spring Season: Every Tuesday and Thursday, 6.00 pm-7.30 pm,
February 28 to April 27, 2023.  Graduation on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

"Netball America has designed a fun education, nutrition, and physical fitness program that takes pressure off girls having to lose weight, be athletes, be rough in sports and instead focuses them on participation in fun-filled activities on topics such as decision making, goal setting, body image, leadership, etc, while forming healthy habits, learning the globally popular and inclusive sport of Netball", says BAI Head Coach Kie McCrae.
This US and Global Award Winning Be An Inspiration Program is an initiative of Netball America Inc. that uses sport as a platform to empower youth for peace and strong futures, while increasing participation in sports, reducing childhood obesity, breaking down barriers to reducing discrimination, and increasing social-emotional well-being.  The curriculum was developed in partnership with TrueSport (powered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency) and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (a universal call to end poverty and ensure all people enjoy peace and prosperity.)

This program has helped drive positive social transformation in over 1,000 Atlanta girls this past year. Program results show that 100% of girls have a safe and inclusive place to develop confidence, social skills, self-management, better nutrition behaviors, all while learning the globally popular sport of Netball.
