Ayur means Life
Veda means Science
Ayurveda is a life Science.
Ayurvedic Science, Ayurvedic Therapies, Ayurvedic Suppplements, Yoga are some of the biggest contribution of  India to the whole Universe. Now It is a 30 billon Dollars export  Industry . India has over 800 Ayurvedic collages and Universities. Govt of India has set up a ministry for Ayurvedic Medicine.  Ayurvedic science and products  are being , modernized, standardized into bio-molecular functional foods and products and being sold in the USA, Europe and other parts of the Globe .
We do need modern medicine for Emergency  as well as Ayurvedic medicine for prevention and treatment. Ayurveda can not be compared and compromised with any other system of medical science. It is an unique medical science which deals with lifestyle, nutrition, food, and many many therapies.

Ayurvedic is more like a complimentary and  preventative health care system ?

Ayurveda can not compared  or compromised  with emergency medicine or surgery ?
We need both the systems ?
Prevention is better that accidental  Or emergency health problem?  When It happens we end of up in hospital and go through emergency care? It is costly and if it fails , we become a  loser ?

Like computer science with molecular biology ? Two different aspect of sciences ? So we cannot compare Ayurveda with western medicine, surgery or chemical drugs?
Ayurveda focuses on lifestyle, prevention and permanent treatment  of many chronic health problems?
