Heart of Texas Public Safety Historical Center Announcement

WACO, Texas - Feb. 24, 2023 - PRLog -- A new Waco nonprofit, The Heart of Texas Public Safety Historical Center, has been formed to create a center by the same name. The mission of the center is to bridge the past to the present and build an understanding of the evolution of public safety in the Heart of Texas. The center will pay tribute to law enforcement, firefighters, medical responders, and emergency managers.

The Heart of Texas Public Safety Historical Center Board of Trustees is led by chair and former Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman. Trustees believe that by providing an opportunity for visitors to learn the importance of public safety, they'll also be fostering an understanding of how it supports a safer future.

Organizers envision the center consisting of: a Public Safety Museum dedicated to the individuals and agencies serving in public safety in the Heart of Texas region; an Educational Center to share an understanding of the role of public safety in our communities and the evolution of public safety in the Heart of Texas area; and a Library and Archive to research records chronicling public safety in the Heart of Texas and the individuals who committed their work and, sometimes, their lives in that service.

The public can support the center's creation by donating funds via credit card or PayPal at HOTPublicSafetyCenter.org. The organization is also calling for artifacts and items to be donated or loaned to the center, which helps tell the story of public safety in the Heart of Texas area.
