Follow on Google News | The BOXER-8224AI's Port-Free Coastline Offers System-Level Functionality in Flexible Board FormWith MIPI-CSI camera support and a wafer-based coastline on an exceptionally small form factor, the BOXER-8224AI is a unique blend of board and system.
By: AAEON Technology A first for this line of AAEON products, the BOXER-8224AI's board layout includes a wafer-based coastline rather than full I/O ports to provide users with the full functionality of AAEON's system-level edge AI solutions in a more flexible way. Included in this configuration are two MIPI-CSI camera connectors for the installation of smaller, more cost-effective peripheral cameras for space-limited applications such as drones. In addition to greater space-efficiency, the BOXER-8224AI's support for MIPI-CSI cameras offers triple the bandwidth of ethernet-based camera connections and substantially more stability than USB cameras. Despite this, the BOXER-8224AI still maintains GbE, USB 3.2, HDMI 2.0, UART, and GPIO functions via pin-wafer connectors, giving developers the option to utilize them without sacrificing board space. The BOXER-8224AI is also equipped with the expansion options that AAEON's edge AI solutions have become associated with; such as M.2, MicroSD, and Mini Card slots for Wi-Fi, 4G, and additional storage modules. With a world-class visual interface accompanied by UART function enabling 9-axis IMU sensor connectivity, AAEON believe the BOXER-8224AI is the perfect base for drone applications, especially given its small form factor. It also shows great promise for deployment in people-counting, public safety, and smart manufacturing applications due to its wide -20°C ~ 60°C temperature range and suitability to limited installation spaces.
