Circus Harmony World Premiere on World Circus Day, April 15!

By: Circus Harmony

ST. LOUIS - April 5, 2023 - PRLog -- World Circus Day is the international celebration of circus arts by the global circus community. It is held on the third Saturday of April each year. This year, it falls on April 15 which is the day when Circus Harmony will premiere Swashbuckle, its first full length show since the CoVid19 lockdown!

Circus Harmony is St. Louis' only social circus school. They also offer recreational circus classes for all ages and pre-professional circus training for those looking to follow this as a career path! The show will be presented in the circus ring at City Museum that Circus Harmony calls home.

Circus Harmony artistic/executive director and founder, Jessica Hentoff,  points out, "This is our first full length show since the lockdown. It is also a show where our youth circus performers have done a lot of the choreography. It is impressive seeing them flex their physical and creative muscles in this production!"

Swashbuckle is an epic pirate adventure with somersaulting, sword fighting, and circus that features a pirate queen, a sea witch, and a real parrot, 32 year old Teko, a military macaw!  The show includes all-new acts co-created with Circus Harmony's sensational staff and talented students, including unicycling, contortion, wire-walking, partner acrobatics, and an impressive hand-to-trapeze act!  Hand-to-trapeze is a new circus genre where a flier is tossed back and forth between a base on the ground and a catcher in the air.

Also on World Circus Day, Circus Harmony will be included in the online showcase presented by the Global Alliance of Circus Schools featuring acts from top circus schools around the world. Circus Harmony alumni can be seen touring the world with Cirque du Soleil, 7 Fingers, Cirque Mechanics, The Flying Wallendas, and even with the WWE! Currently, two are in Europe with Cirque du Soleil, two in San Francisco with 7 Fingers, one in Florida with the Flying Wallendas, and one just opened in NYC with Cirque Mechanics. They can also be found working as teachers, electricians, accountants, and in other jobs. Inspired children in the audience can then sign up for Circus Harmony's summer camp which is also held at City Museum.

The Swashbuckle world premiere will be on World Circus Day 2023! Special circus giveaways will happen on that day during the show in honor of World Circus Day!
