Colorado Conservatory Of Dance Offers Summer Programs With World-renowned Faculty

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - April 5, 2023 - PRLog -- (BROOMFIELD, CO) Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD)  will welcome an array of dance luminaries to teach in their summer programs for pre-professional and professional dancers. Guest faculty include Sidra Bell, Jennifer Howard, Zippora Karz, Maurya Kerr, Alex Ketley, and Bruce McCormick.

Compass Coaching Project (July 17-29, 2023) is offered to professional dancers 17+ and addresses the needs of professional dancers who are in transition, at the beginning of a career, feeling stuck or unseen, or needing motivation and inspiration. Working with no more than 20 dancers to explore technique, artistry, and vulnerability in a safe, mentally-healthy environment, the program holds a magnifying glass to a professional artist's current position in the profession and offers help to navigate toward one's personal goals. Led by internationally renowned repetiteur, teacher, and Compass Coaching Project Artistic Director, Dominic Walsh, the program will focus on the individual needs of each dancer, breaking down the intricacies and challenges of attaining a more efficient technique through a variety of tools in both classical and contemporary dance. Compass Coaching Project also offers classes in Alexander Technique, Movement Therapy, and Anatomy. Artists will have the opportunity to work on repertoire from such iconic choreographers as Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Jirí Kylián, Crystal Pite, and more.

The Advanced Summer Intensive program is for dancers who want a challenging summer experience that will accelerate their ballet, contemporary, and cultural dance training in an intimate, individualized setting. The Advanced Summer Intensive runs June 19 – July 29, 2023 with three divisions serving intermediate/advanced and advanced dancers ages 12-22. Students will train up to 8 hours per day Monday-Friday with rigorous and invigorating classes designed to diversify their capacity for movement. An optional 2-hour ballet technique class is also available on Saturdays. Dancers who perform in the end-of-summer performance, CCD's  Summer Moving Project, may get to perform works by Sidra Bell, Maurya Kerr, Alex Ketley, and Dominic Walsh, among others.
